An international Grand Prix rider herself, Cynthia Payne trained with Michael Poulin in the US before heading to Europe for four years to work with world class trainers in The Netherlands. She has shown international Grand Prix in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany on self made horses during her stay in Europe.

She has trained multiple horses successfully to Grand Prix and has now trained several of her students to FEI.

Since returning home Cynthia Payne has opened their doors to offer the best in quality care and training.


Sunshine Dressage and Cynthia Payne have made their mark in the dressage arena producing champions such as Laredo, Olaf, Maxwell, Saving Grace, N'Evitable and our next superstar Reno.


Based in Huntersville, NC, Cynthia works with horses and riders of all levels. Horses are a team effort, and here at Sunshine Dressage we offer the finest in veterinary, blacksmith, and equine care.
